Wild Life Exemption

The majority of the lots are currently under Wildlife Exemption. The state of Texas provides a property tax exemption, or reduction, for rural oriented property. The local county establishes the specific criteria as to how each property qualifies. Wildlife Management is one such option available for properties, such as ours, that has either an abundance of native wildlife along with their habitat, or other such other items. Our lots are also sized to meet the minimum standards for this exemption. The benefit is primarily financial, to motivate property owners to own and maintain larger native or agricultural lands. This means that a property owner that might pay several thousands of dollars in annual property taxes will likely pay only several hundred. This is only applicable to the land and not improved structures, such as houses, barns, etc. Not all of the ranches are currently under a Wildlife Management Program. It will be the responsibility of the new owner to maintain the exemption.
